Well-Being

At Littlest Elf we value everyone who is part of what we do, and we place huge importance on keeping healthy and happy, not only for all our children, but for all our team as well.

Well being for Everyone

Well-being, happy minds, happy bodies, happy selves is key to everyone’s emotional development and learning, and focusing on this makes our nurseries a great place to be.    We would like our nurseries to feel as relaxing to be in as our homes, and as warm, kind and friendly as our great friends and family.

We do see ourselves as very much a part of our nursery communities and of our local communities, and we make great efforts to do things for us all, and for our local villages, as well as for any personal requests made to us by our teams children and parents.

We also do support charities, we encourage teamwork and we encourage sharing to help in all situations. We listen to our teams needs and support them through any difficult times.  All of this is central to our core values, we are here for the community, to build the community and as a hub for sharing and caring.

Promoting Well-Being for Children

To meet all our children's individual needs, our expansive and exciting curriculum draws on a wide range of learning disciplines - making sure we cover Sensory, Visual  Auditory,  Kinaesthetic, Musical and Naturalistic fields. We have weekly Yoga and Cooking Club, Heuristic Play, Music and Movement sessions. We also have daily Exercise, Ball games and Outdoor Pursuits, and Forest School.  Our nursery children experience an exciting Extra Curriculum Provision in order to enhance their well-being and their learning about themselves, being healthy and about the world around them.

Home Cooked Food

Our in house experienced and professional chefs prepare delicious home cooked produce, using all healthy and organic ingredients, some are even our own homegrown!  We buy most of our produce locally, and strongly believe in supporting the local community.  Our tasty meals and snacks are without salt, puddings and cakes use absolute minimal sugar, most often we add a sweet vegetable to flavour eg.chocolate with beetroot cakes.

Healthy Body, Healthy Planet

Our emphasis is on physical exercise, and the great natural world outdoors, as well as on healthy eating choices all of which promote the importance of having a healthy body to our children.

This focus on wellness extends to understanding the needs and health of our planet and natural world, understanding things we can do to make a difference.

We use locally sourced fruit and vegetables; we use little or no plastic; we even send off our dirty nappies to be turned into biofuel.

In this way, our children gain a sense of themselves and of others and their place in the world. They learn how important it is to care for and to be considerate of others, as well as the environment around them.
